WOLFTV Setup

Smart STB Setup Guide

Smart STB mimics a MAG-style portal on Smart TVs, Apple TV, Android boxes, and mobile devices. Follow this guide to capture your virtual MAC, connect the WOLFTV portal, and keep the app activated once the trial ends.

Why Smart STB

Portal login without extra hardware, 7-day trial, broad Smart TV support

Smart STB provides a built-in portal client wherever advanced IPTV apps are missing. It’s ideal if you need a quick bridge to WOLFTV on a Smart TV, though newer apps (TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, IPTVX) offer smoother UI.

  • Setup time: About five minutes from install to live channels.
  • Trial: 7 days; license activation ≈ 250 SEK (~€22) one-time.
  • Login types: Portal URL (recommended) or M3U upload.
  • Devices: Samsung/LG Smart TVs, Android TV/boxes, Apple TV, phones, tablets.
Activate the license before the trial expires—when the 7 days end, the app blocks portal access until you pay.

Quick Setup Checklist

  1. Install Smart STB from the official store and launch it. Accept the terms to start the free trial.
  2. When the info panel appears, press OK quickly to open Settings. If the panel freezes, relaunch the app or power-cycle the TV.
  3. Go to Device Info and write down the Virtual MAC (starts with 00:1A:79). Provide this MAC to WOLFTV when requesting service.
  4. Select Embedded Portal → Portals. Enable Multi-portal mode and make sure Use Portal 1 is turned on.
  5. Set a portal name (e.g. wolftv) and paste the WOLFTV portal URL from your welcome email. Save, exit settings, and restart the app so channels load.
Manage your license at smart-stb.net. You can request the trial, activate the app, or recover a lost license by entering your virtual MAC.

Keep Smart STB Running Smoothly

  • Save the virtual MAC and activation receipt—you’ll need them if you reinstall or change TVs.
  • Reboot the TV/box weekly to clear cache and reload portal data.
  • Update Smart STB through the TV’s app store whenever new versions appear.
  • Disable unused portals in the settings menu to avoid confusion.

Device Notes & Alternatives

Smart TVs

Works across Samsung/LG models but the setup is more involved. If available, Nanomid or iMPlayer provide richer interfaces.

Nvidia Shield & Android Boxes

Smart STB runs fine, yet Android-native apps like TiviMate or Nanomid offer better navigation and catch-up options.

Xiaomi Mi Stick / Box

Supported, though weaker processors may struggle with large playlists. Lower stream quality or upgrade hardware if buffering persists.

Formuler Boxes

Prefer MyTVOnline for full remote support. Keep Smart STB only as a fallback.

FAQs

Is Smart STB free?

No. You receive a 7-day trial, then a one-time license fee of roughly 250 SEK (~€22) is required.

How do I find my virtual MAC?

Open Settings → Device Info; the virtual MAC begins with 00:1A:79. Share it with WOLFTV to activate your portal.

Where do I upload my playlist?

Add the WOLFTV portal URL directly inside Smart STB under Portals. Use smart-stb.net for license tasks.

Does Smart STB have good subtitle support?

Subtitle handling is inconsistent. If you need reliable captions, consider IPTVX (Apple TV) or IPTV Smarters/TiviMate (Android).
